Krakatau & Ujung Kulon Itinerary
Follow the journey from Jakarta to Krakatau, continue into the Ujung Kulon rainforest and coastal area, then return to Jakarta.
Krakatau Volcano & Journey into Ujung Kulon
Jakarta – Carita – Krakatau – Ujung Kulon
The journey begins at around 05:00 from Jakarta. After pick-up, travel by road to Carita Port, approximately 2.5 hours away. Breakfast is arranged before boarding the private fast boat across the Sunda Strait toward Anak Krakatau.
During the crossing, make a short stop for views of the Krakatau crater from the southwest side of Anak Krakatau. Continue to the landing area and hike toward the first level, passing volcanic terrain, vegetation and coastal scenery before returning to the boat.
The trip then continues toward Rakata Island and the Legon Cabe coral reef for snorkeling. After the marine activity, return to Carita and continue by road toward Taman Jaya Village near the Ujung Kulon area.
Check in at the lodge or guest house, enjoy dinner and take the evening to rest in preparation for the next day's rainforest activity.
Rainforest Trekking & Nature Exploration
Ujung Kulon – Gunung Honje
After breakfast, set out on a morning trek through the lowland rainforest around Gunung Honje. The walk takes approximately two to four hours and is designed for travelers who want to experience the natural landscape of the Ujung Kulon area.
Along the route, you may encounter a variety of plants and wildlife. The itinerary highlights birdlife and possible sightings of animals such as flying lemurs, mouse deer, Javan rhinoceros, Javan gibbons, leaf monkeys and wild boar. Wildlife sightings are naturally dependent on conditions in the field.
After the morning exploration, return to the lodge for a more relaxed afternoon. Dinner is served at around 18:30, followed by free time to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Handeuleum Island, Snorkeling & Return
Ujung Kulon – Handeuleum – Badul – Sumur – Jakarta
After breakfast, continue by boat toward Handeuleum Island. The island is surrounded by mangrove forest and offers a peaceful coastal setting where visitors can enjoy the scenery and may observe wildlife such as monkeys and deer in their natural surroundings.
Continue toward Badul Island, a small sandy island surrounded by reef. Enjoy snorkeling in the surrounding waters and explore the coral reef environment, where a variety of reef fish and marine life may be seen.
After completing the day's activities, continue to Sumur for the return transfer to Jakarta. The tour ends after arrival in Jakarta.
