Begin your journey from Carita and travel by private car via Sumur Village to Muara Baru. Continue by slow wooden boat into Ujung Kulon and explore Badul Island, Handeuleum Island, Cigenter River, Peucang Island, Cidaon, Cibom, Ciramea, Tanjung Layar, Citerjun and Karang Copong.

Ujung Kulon Overland Tour Itinerary

Follow the four-day journey through the islands, rainforest, rivers and coastal landscapes of Ujung Kulon National Park.

DEPARTURE OPTION A

Private Car + Slow Boat

A four-day, three-night journey from Carita through Ujung Kulon National Park using private car and slow wooden boat transportation.

DAY 01

Carita – Sumur – Muara Baru – Badul Island – Handeuleum Island

The journey begins at 8:00 AM with a pick-up from your hotel in Carita. Travel by private car via Sumur Village to Muara Baru Harbor. The journey takes approximately three hours.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Sumur Village. After lunch, continue to Muara Baru and board a slow wooden boat towards Handeuleum Island (Welcome Bay).

On the way to Handeuleum Island, stop at Badul Island for a snorkeling activity and explore its beautiful coral reefs.

Continue by boat to Handeuleum Island and check in at the lodge. Enjoy the island surroundings and take time to relax after the journey.

DAY 02

Handeuleum Island – Cigenter River – Peucang Island – Cidaon

Breakfast will be served at the lodge at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, cruise to the Cigenter River for a jungle canoeing experience. The canoeing activity takes approximately two hours and offers an opportunity to explore the habitat of the Javan rhinoceros.

Continue to the beautiful Cigenter Grazing Ground and explore the surrounding area before returning to the boat.

Continue by slow boat to Peucang Island. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy free time to explore and relax on Peucang Island.

In the afternoon, cruise to Cidaon to visit the grazing ground and enjoy the sunset over the Ujung Kulon Peninsula.

In the late afternoon, return by slow boat to Peucang Island and enjoy free time.

DAY 03

Peucang Island – Cibom – Ciramea – Tanjung Layar – Citerjun

Breakfast will be served at the lodge at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, travel by slow boat to Cibom. The journey takes approximately one hour.

From Cibom, continue to Ciramea Beach for a jungle trekking experience through the tropical forest of Ujung Kulon National Park. The round trip takes approximately four hours.

After exploring Ciramea Beach, continue to Tanjung Layar Historical Site. Experience both coastal and jungle trekking while exploring this historic area.

Continue walking back to Cibom and board the boat towards Citerjun for snorkeling. Enjoy the beautiful coral reefs around Citerjun.

DAY 04

Karang Copong – Muara Baru – Carita

Breakfast will be served at the lodge at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, take a short walk to Karang Copong and explore the beautiful tropical forest in the area. The walk takes approximately two hours.

After exploring Karang Copong, return to Peucang Island and prepare for the return journey.

Cruise back to Muara Baru by boat. Upon arrival, continue by private car back to Carita.

End of the tour in Carita.

DEPARTURE OPTION B

Private Car + Fast Boat

A four-day, three-night journey from Jakarta to Ujung Kulon National Park combining private car and fast boat transportation.

DAY 01

Jakarta International Airport – Carita

Your journey begins with a pick-up by our representative at Jakarta International Airport. Travel to the coastal town of Carita by private car.

The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours by road. Upon arrival in Carita, check in at the hotel and enjoy free time.

DAY 02

Carita – Handeuleum Island – Cigenter River – Peucang Island – Cidaon

Breakfast will be served at the restaurant at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, transfer to the pier and board the fast boat towards Handeuleum Island (Welcome Bay).

Continue with a jungle canoeing experience around Handeuleum Island and the Cigenter River. The journey to the area takes approximately two hours and offers an opportunity to explore the habitat of the Javan rhinoceros.

Continue to the Cigenter River for canoeing. The canoeing activity takes approximately two hours. Before returning to the boat, visit the Cigenter Grazing Ground and explore the surrounding area.

Continue by fast boat to Peucang Island. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy the island surroundings.

Relax, swim, sunbathe or enjoy snorkeling around Peucang Island. At 5:00 PM, cruise to Cidaon for animal watching and to enjoy the sunset.

In the late afternoon, return by boat to Peucang Island and enjoy free time.

DAY 03

Ujung Kulon National Park – Cibom – Ciramea – Tanjung Layar – Citerjun

Breakfast will be served at the lodge at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, travel by boat to Cibom and continue to Ciramea Beach for jungle trekking.

The trekking route takes approximately four hours round trip. Explore the tropical forest of Ujung Kulon National Park and enjoy the scenery around Ciramea Beach.

Continue to Tanjung Layar Historical Site and explore the area through a combination of beach and jungle trekking.

Return to Cibom and continue by boat to Citerjun for snorkeling. Explore the beautiful coral reefs around Citerjun.

After snorkeling, return by boat to Peucang Island and enjoy free time.

DAY 04

Karang Copong – Carita – Jakarta

Breakfast will be served at the lodge at 8:00 AM. After breakfast, take a short walk to Karang Copong and explore the beautiful tropical forest. The walk takes approximately two hours.

After exploring Karang Copong, return to Peucang Island and prepare for the return journey.

Cruise back to Carita by boat. The journey takes approximately three hours. Upon arrival in Carita, continue by private car back to Jakarta.

End of the tour in Jakarta.
